Serves as supplementary hunger - relief efforts for families, individuals, and seniors in high areas of need.
Through our Mobile Food Pantries, a truckload of food is distributed in pre-packed boxes or through a farmers market-style distribution where those attending have the ability to choose and take what they need.
Mobile Food Pantries can be found in 17 communities in northeast Iowa, reaching an average of 93 families each month at each site. Each distribution provides between 8,000 to 8,500 pounds of food to those attending, ultimately providing over 929,000 million meals per year.
Some communities don't have a grocery store. Some don't even have a gas station. That makes getting groceries difficult.
